To operate these trailers safely and efficiently, it is essential to know the different parts that make up a semi tipper trailer. Tipper trailer body part
The end dump trailer body part is one of the vital part. Now in the market you can find 2 types of boxes– the rectangular box and u-shaped box.
The rectangular hopper is just like a flatbed with a full enclosure. This design makes the loading capacity larger with full space use ratio. However, as you can immagine, when end-dumping the material, the little corners on the hopper will be a killer to “steal” your materials. Considering this, people often use this to transport uniform materials like gravel, aggregates, etc, which is smooth to unload.
Compared to the rectangular hopper, the u-shaped tanker is much more “generous”. Due to the cut-corner design, you can easily realize zero residue rate in a fast offloading speed. But the darkside of a u-shaped tanker is, it reduces the loading capacity in a way. As the tipper trailers in Panda Mech can be customized, this is not a big deal at all.
According to the different goods you are going to transport, the thickness of the box is also different. Generally we suggest Hardox steel to improve the wearing-resistant ability, especially when you need to transport gravel or other hard and sharpe materials. Tipper trailer Hydraulic system part
The hydraulic system part is what distinguishes the semi tipper trailer from other semi trailers. As the powerful heart of a tipper, it can lift the box when working to unload the cargo, at the maximum angle of 45° in quite a short time. I don’t think you will find such efficient helper on other semis, do you?
The hydraulic cylinder is composed of three parts: hydraulic pump, hydraulic cylinder and hydraulic hose. Actually the cylinder part is quite a precise instrument in semi trailer design, becasue it need to be powered through the tractor to accomplish steady lifting-up. So we choose world-famous HYVA cylinder to guarantee quality and efficiency.
Tipper trailer chassis part
As the basis part of a tipper trailer, the chassis should never be jerry-built. Three techniques have been applied to guarantee its strength:
- its body part was designed to a particular section that looks like the letter “I” . This evenly distributes the pressure and tensions. With solid road adaptability, it can operate on many worse road surfaces.
- The beams part have all been strengthened. The main beam is made of high-strength steel and more cross beams have been added to support the whole structure’s stability.
- Finally, the welding seams are all conducted by automatic robots. The precision welding seams can greatly avoid breakage and rupture, making them flexible to respond to the distortion and spring by reinforcing with a center sill.

Semi tipper trailer legs part (or you can call it landing gears or trailer jacks) are support devices that is attached to the underside of the trailer. They are extensible and can be bolted from the bottom. When the tipper semi trailer is detached from the semi truck when in loading or offloading, the legs will help to support the tipper trailer.
Tipper trailer kingpin part
The kingpin part is the joint to connect the semi truck and the semi trailer. It is a steel pin on tipper trailer that is inserted into the fifth wheel on the tipper semi trailer, and secured with a locking mechanism, then the tipper semi trailer can pivot and turn with security while being pulled by the tractor.
The kingpin part must be properly sized and rated for the weight of the tipper trailer and its cargo. Our sales associate will help you customize it. When in the operation, it is important to note that the kingpin is securely locked into the fifth wheel coupling to avoid falling off on the road, which is quite dangerous.

Tipper trailer axle part
The axles part are the structural components that support the weight of the trailer and its cargo. Besides, they play an important role in stablize the semi trailer while on rough terrains.
According to tipper semi trailer’s capacity, it usually have 2/3/4/5/6 axles, and you can also customize it according to specific needs. Panda Mech tipper semi truck trailer’ axles are from famous brands of BPW and Fuwa, which are with quality assurance and longer service life.
Tipper trailer suspension part
The structure of a suspension part contains lead springs, airbags, etc. It is used to improving damping ability of a semi trailer, which gives you comfortable driving experience as well as protecting the trailer and cargo.
Suspension part is divided into mechanical suspension and air suspension, and can also be mixed-use. The mechanical suspensions are more popular because they are tougher for terrible road conditions, while the air suspensions can do better in damping ability when you are transporting delicate cargoes like grains.
Tipper trailer electric system part
As we have mentioned above, the circuit, or you can call it electric system part, connect the semi truck and trailer to help you control the devices. The system consists of sidelights, a reflector, and a 2*7 pin socket set. In Panda Mech, we always use Philips circuit that meets the demand of EEC standards, and this is the guarantee of our precise control.
Painting and the surface protection of semi tipper trailer
As we call know, the hardox steel is pretty stubborn for physical friction and crash, but for chemical corrosion, it cannot perform that good. Therefore, in order to protect the cargo inside and longer the trailer life span, we have done some special handlings. First, the hopper and the tipper trailer bed must be sandblasted and surface hardened with a fully automatic strapping system. Then comes two times the construction of epoxy resin primers, and after the last two sprays, the roll code is baking at 60 and 80 degrees, making the whole surface more durable, better protected, and more beautiful.
